Tree, designed by Werner Aisslinger, features a solid shade that is artfully sliced to allow light to permeate and illuminate the room. The Club is Ministry of Design’s latest high design boutique hotel offering in the uber chic Club Street conservation area with 22 distinctly unique rooms, a rooftop skybar with alfresco deck and a destination F&B venue with a tapas bar on the ground floor. The Club Boutique Hotel interior is the latest Ministry of Design (MOD) project in Singapore, designed in beautiful black and white color. Called The Club, the monochrome Singapore hotel features undulating folds of fabric hanging from the ceiling and black illustrations of plants and trees. All rooms combine traditional colonial design inspired elements together with sleek modern detailing, attitude and creature comforts – creating a colonial chic aesthetic.

Really cool, great idea! I’ve seen numerous lights that utilize the winding of a handle in order to give the light power.  They work, but they aren’t in the least bit creative, it’s been done time and time again. This conceptual creative lamp is designed in the shape of a globe and is hand powered. Simply charge the Dynamic Hand Powered Lamp by spinning the globe round and round like you would a normal globe. This globe shaped light will shine on your work and books all night long, just as long as you keep it charged.  To do that, you just spin the globe round and round just as if you would a normal globe. Called Karin Johansson’s lamp is a wonderful and eco-friendly concept that uses the globe of the earth as your source of light and the kinetic energy of your hands as the source of power. A dynamo placed inside the globe converts the kinetic energy to light, when you spin it. It’s amazing how the globe glows without the aid of power supply or batteries.
